چکیده

Abstract. Consider a Kirchhoff plate ∂2 t u+Δ 2u−∂2 t Δu = 0 in Ω× (0, T ), with boundary data u = Δu = 0 on ∂Ω×(0, T ) and unknown initial data u(·, 0) = u0 and ∂tu(·, 0) = u1 in Ω. We study an inverse problem of determining (u0, u1) from an interior observation u|ω×(0,T ). Here Ω is a bounded domain, ω a nonempty open subset of Ω, and T > 0 a suitable time duration. By means of an iterative time reversal technique, we derive an asymptotic formula of reconstructing (u0, u1) approximately with a logarithmical convergence rate for smooth initial data. The convergence becomes uniform and exponential when (Ω, ω, T ) satisfies the geometric control condition introduced by Bardos, Lebeau, and Rauch.

An Improved Time-Reversal-Based Target Localization for Through-Wall Microwave Imaging

Recently, time reversal (TR) method, due to its high functionality in heterogeneous media has been widely employed in microwave imaging (MI) applications. One of the applications turning into a great interest is through-wall microwave imaging (TWMI). In this paper, TR method is applied to detect and localize a target obscured by a brick wall using a numerically generated data. Regarding this, i...

Thermoelastic Damping and Frequency Shift in Kirchhoff Plate Resonators Based on Modified Couple Stress Theory With Dual-Phase-Lag Model

The present investigation deals with study of thermoelastic damping and frequency shift of Kirchhoff plate resonators by using generalized thermoelasticity theory of dual-phase-lag model. The basic equations of motion and heat conduction equation are written with the help of Kirchhoff-Love plate theory and dual phase lag model. The analytical expressions for thermoelastic damping and frequency ...

How Operational Parameters and Membrane Characteristics Affect the Performance of Electrodialysis Reversal Desalination Systems: The State of the Art*

Operating parameters and membrane characteristics strongly affect the performance of electrodialysis reversal systems. The most impactful factors are applied voltage, flow rate, temperature, initial feed composition, and ion exchange membrane characteristics; the pH of the feed also has an effect, although to a lesser extent. To determine more precisely how all of these factors impact performan...

Time reversal focusing of elastic waves in plates for an educational demonstration.

The purpose of this research is to develop a visual demonstration of time reversal focusing of vibrations in a thin plate. Various plate materials are tested to provide optimal conditions for time reversal focusing. Specifically, the reverberation time in each plate and the vibration coupling efficiency from a shaker to the plate are quantified to illustrate why a given plate provides the best ...

Dynamic Analysis of a Nano-Plate Carrying a Moving Nanoparticle Considering Eelectrostatic and Casimir Forces

This paper reports an analytical method to show the effect of electrostatic and Casimir forces on the pull-in instability and vibration of single nano-plate (SNP) carrying a moving nanoparticle. Governing equations for nonlocal forced vibration of the SNP under a moving nanoparticle considering electrostatic and Casimir forces are derived by using Hamilton’s principle for the case when two ends...
